New Beginnings
A fresh start, a new beginning,
This time it'll be different, you tell yourself
And slowly, you start to ascend;
Bit by bit, step by step, you climb.
But slowly, you start to grow tired,
And find yourself slipping, slipping back into that endless cycle.
Plummeting back into that endless, unrelenting cycle
That tugs and pulls and drags you by your feet
As you scramble and struggle to be better.
And so you grit your teeth, and clench your fists, and strap back on your boots.
This time it will be different, you tell yourself
And faster now, you start to ascend;
Bit by bit, step by step, you climb back up
And though you're feeling weary, you tighten your grip.
And you look back down at that seemingly endless, seemingly unrelenting cycle,
